What is the French Bio-Based Chemistry Association ?

The ACDV is a non-profit organisation governed by the French law of 1901 which brings together the major economic players of agri-resources, chemistry and their downstream industries for the industrial development of bio-based chemistry in France and Europe.
Via the ACDV, these players make a joint and lasting commitment to make bio-based chemistry one of the major pillars of bio-economics.

What are its role and its missions ?

The ACDV has set out to encourage the development of bio-based chemical intermediates. It represents and promotes bio-based chemistry, develops common positions and arguments, identifies the major challenges facing industrialists, implements economic and technical intelligence via an international watch, and leads a strategic reflection on the initiatives to be taken according to market interest (construction, cosmetics, motoring, aeronautics, packaging, etc.).

What are its research themes ?

The association has established six working groups organised in “project mode” and led by a coordinator, who is a member of the association :

 • References: definitions, standards, certification
 • Lifecycle assessments
Technico-economic watch
 • Strategic analyses
 • Regulations and incitements
 • Communication and coordination
